Three Indian Nationals Arrested for Pattaya Restaurant Assault
PATTAYA – Chonburi Immigration Police have apprehended three Indian men following a violent attack on a compatriot at a South Pattaya restaurant. The assault, which occurred on October 17, 2025, left the victim with a significant head injury that required medical treatment.

The operation was conducted under the direction of Pol. Col. Napasphong Khositsuriyamanee, Superintendent of Chonburi Immigration. A team led by his deputies surrounded and raided a hideout in Soi Ko Phai the day after the incident. The raid resulted in the arrest of three suspects: 30-year-old Ran Manohar Sharma, identified as the group’s leader, along with Ankhil, 24, and Ankur, 21. The men were subsequently transported to the Immigration Office for interrogation.
The police action was initiated after the victim, Narendra Tamta, filed a formal complaint stating he had been assaulted by four of his countrymen inside the restaurant. The attack left him with a deep cut to his head that necessitated seven stitches. According to investigators, the motive for the violence appears to have been jealousy, with the assailants mistakenly believing the victim was romantically involved with Sharma’s girlfriend, who is also employed at the establishment.

Authorities were able to locate the suspects by reviewing security camera footage and utilizing local intelligence, which led them to a room rented by an Indian woman in South Pattaya. While three of the alleged attackers were successfully detained, one accomplice remains at large. A manhunt is currently underway to apprehend the fourth suspect, with immigration and local police coordinating efforts to prevent his escape from the area.
