SURAT THANI – A 35-year-old French man has been arrested on Koh Phangan in connection with a rape complaint filed by a victim on the island. The arrest was carried out by the Special Operations Unit of the Surat Thani Provincial Police Investigation Division, acting on a warrant issued by the Koh Samui Provincial Court dated December 6, 2025.

Police apprehended the suspect, identified only as Mr. F., without incident. He faces charges of “rape by sexual intercourse with another person who is unable to resist.” Authorities stated the alleged offense took place inside a room in Koh Phangan District. Following the victim’s formal complaint, investigators moved swiftly to locate the suspect and secure the warrant for his arrest.
During the same operation, police also detained two Latvian women on allegations of operating an illegal hotel on the island. No further details regarding their identities or the specific nature of the illegal operation were immediately released.
