Drunk German National Detained After Causing Disturbance at Sattahip Market
PATTAYA – A German national was taken into police custody after an intoxicated rampage at Bang Sare market in Sattahip district, Chonburi province, on December 23, 2025. The incident caused significant alarm among vendors and residents, prompting police intervention to restore order and prevent further harm, Khaosod newspaper reported.

Officers from Sattahip Police Station responded to reports of a violent, intoxicated foreign man at the coastal market. Upon arrival, they found the individual in a state of extreme drunkenness, lying on a sofa inside the market area after having damaged several vendors’ property. During the disturbance, the man also injured himself, and his actions scattered belongings outside a row of shop houses.
Witnesses informed police that the man has a history of similar aggressive and self-harming behavior when drunk but typically compensates victims and returns to normal conduct once sober. Residents reported hearing loud noises resembling thrown objects and property being ransacked before alerting authorities.

An immigration check confirmed the German national has not overstayed his visa. Police are considering charging him with public drunken misconduct, which carries a fine of up to 5,000 baht. Officers are also documenting the losses incurred by affected vendors.

According to authorities, the man will be required to compensate those whose property was damaged. Further legal action will depend on the outcome of the investigation and any formal charges pursued.
