BANGKOK – Police have apprehended nine teenagers in connection with a violent shooting under Phra Pok Klao Bridge in the early hours of October 5, which left two young men injured. The suspects, ranging in age from 15 to 20, are believed to be members of three rival youth gangs who opened fire on a group they did not personally know during a coordinated confrontation.

The incident unfolded around 1:00 AM after Phra Ratchawang Station officers responded to reports of gunfire. Two victims were found with leg injuries and transported to Klang Hospital and Taksin Hospital for treatment. Investigators determined that the attack was carried out by multiple assailants riding motorcycles in an organized manner.
The first individual arrested was 20-year-old Mr. Kritsada, also known as “Hin,” who faces charges including attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, and discharging a weapon in a public area. Police recovered the clothing and motorcycle he allegedly used during the incident. Subsequent operations led to the detention of several juveniles aged 15 to 17, who were accompanied by their parents during questioning. Additional evidence, including helmets and motorcycles, was also seized. A ninth suspect, identified only as “F,” was identified as the shooter responsible for injuring the second victim.
According to the police investigation, the violence stemmed from a prior altercation on the evening of October 3. Members of the Pracha Uthit 90, Plang Anusorn, and Wat Yai Rom gangs assembled after learning that an associate had been attacked with a knife by rivals from the Bang Khun Non 19 group. A group of approximately 25 youths on 12 motorcycles later traveled to Phra Pok Klao Bridge, where they encountered an unrelated group of individuals and opened fire without confirming their identities.
