Fatal Bus Collision in Rayong Claims One Life, Injures Twenty-Eight
RAYONG – A tragic accident involving a factory shuttle bus and a school transport vehicle resulted in one fatality and twenty-eight injuries in Rayong’s Ban Khai district on October 28, 2025. The collision took place on Highway 3143 in Nong Lalok subdistrict, drawing an immediate response from local police and rescue services.
Seventeen Injured as Pick-Up Truck Collides with School Bus in Phatthalung
Police Lieutenant Satawat Phuparat led the emergency response, accompanied by rescue teams from the Sawang Porakun Foundation and medical personnel from Ban Khai Hospital. At the scene, the school bus—used to transport students from Nikhom Pittaya School on their first day of the new term—was found with significant damage to its front and side. The driver, identified as 60-year-old Mrs. Wasana, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A total of twenty-three students sustained injuries in the accident, with one pupil reported in serious condition after having been thrown from the vehicle and dragged along the road. Rescue workers provided initial medical assistance before transporting the injured to Ban Khai Hospital. The critically injured student was subsequently transferred to Rayong Hospital for specialized treatment.
Nearby, the factory shuttle bus was also located with visible damage along its side. Its driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Five factory workers aboard the shuttle were injured and taken to the hospital for care.
Students Injured After School Trip Bus Crashes in Surat Thani
Preliminary police findings indicate that the school bus entered the highway from a side road without stopping or exercising sufficient caution, moving directly into the path of the oncoming factory shuttle. Authorities are reviewing witness statements and collecting CCTV footage from the vicinity to establish a definitive account of the incident as the investigation proceeds.
