Seventeen Injured as Pick-Up Truck Collides with School Bus in Phatthalung
PHATTHALUNG — Seventeen schoolchildren and the wife of a bus driver sustained injuries on Tuesday afternoon when a pick-up truck skidded on wet roads and collided with a school bus in Khuan Khanun district. The accident occurred amid heavy rainfall that left the road surface dangerously slick.

The crash took place at 5:10 p.m. on the Pho Thong–Si Banphot road in Chamong sub-district. CCTV footage captured a Bangkok-registered Mitsubishi Triton pick-up, losing control while attempting to overtake the local bus. The pick-up slid into the bus, forcing it off the road and into a ditch where it tipped onto its side.
All injured students and the bus driver’s wife, who was seated beside her husband, were rushed to Khuan Khanun Hospital. Officials confirmed that injuries were mostly minor and all victims are in stable condition.
