According to Sugunyanee Yavinchan, director-general of the Meteorological Department, the impending weather system will bring substantial precipitation to the Northeast, East, Central, and parts of the Southern regions, including the capital Bangkok. The Office of National Water Resources has subsequently identified multiple provinces at risk of flooding from Tuesday through the following Monday.

The alert highlights ongoing concerns for Bangkok and Samut Prakan, where existing drainage challenges could exacerbate flooding impacts. Other regions, including the North, Northeast, East, and West, have been advised to prepare for possible flash floods, runoff, and landslides. Specific provinces such as Chiang Mai, Kamphaeng Phet, and Tak are among those facing heightened risk. The situation is particularly concerning in Surat Thani, where reservoirs have reached full capacity, raising fears of overflow.

The new weather threat comes as 15 provinces continue to experience flooding, with nine located in the Central Plains.
