According to Mueang Udon Thani Police, the assault occurred around 4:30 p.m. when the suspect, identified only as Lee, struck the British man—known locally as Wayne—in the face after taking issue with his “way of looking.” Wayne, who had approached Lee believing he was involved in a dispute with a Grab delivery worker, suffered a cut above his eyebrow and was treated at the scene by rescue personnel.
Witnesses reported erratic behavior from Lee, who allegedly performed a somersault off the back of a police pickup truck before being subdued and questioned with the aid of a tourist police interpreter. Lee admitted to the assault, stating, “I didn’t like the way he looked at me, so I punched him once. I don’t want anyone interfering in my life.”
