In Samut Prakan, key arteries including Sukhumvit, Theparak, Srinakarin, and Praksa roads were inundated with water levels exceeding 30 centimeters in some areas. The combination of intense rainfall and high tides overwhelmed drainage systems, causing traffic gridlock and forcing 25 schools to switch to online classes.
Tragedy struck on Praksa Road when 17-year-old Thanakorn was electrocuted while pushing his motorcycle through floodwaters. A wake from a passing pickup truck caused him to lose balance and touch a roadside barrier with exposed live wires connected to streetlights. He died instantly at the scene. Authorities from the electricity agency and police are investigating the faulty wiring to assign responsibility.
