Thai Man and Norwegian Woman Arrested in Phuket Drug Raid
PHUKET – A Thai man and a Norwegian woman have been arrested at a luxury villa in Phuket’s Muang district on suspicion of drug trafficking. The arrest was carried out by Wichit police on Sunday night following intelligence from local drug users and dealers.

Pol Col Somsak Thongkliang, chief of Wichit Police Station, stated that the suspects, identified only as Kanok, 37, and Mette, 54, were taken into custody around 9:30 p.m. from a villa in tambon Wichit. A search of the premises led to the seizure of 32.78 grammes of heroin, 0.64 grammes of crystal methamphetamine, 44 methamphetamine pills, a digital scale, drug paraphernalia, and 100,000 baht in cash.

Both suspects tested positive for drug use in urine tests. Police indicated that the arrests followed information from individuals within Phuket’s drug network who reported purchasing narcotics from the couple.
