Mr. A. told authorities that he and his wife, Ms. I. Drizi, had landed in Phuket at 2:00 p.m. and checked into a hotel in Karon. Just two hours later, they went for a swim at Karon Beach. Within 10 minutes, strong waves reportedly swept Ms. Drizi under, and she disappeared from view.
