Two Ukrainians Arrested for Assaulting Security Guard in Phuket
PHUKET – Two Ukrainian nationals have been arrested in Patong for allegedly assaulting a security guard who tried to stop them from urinating inside a rental shop at a local shopping mall. The incident occurred around 6:18 AM on June 7, 2025, and was confirmed by Patong Police.

According to the initial report, the altercation began when the guard intervened after spotting the two men attempting to relieve themselves in a non-designated area within the mall. Instead of complying, the suspects allegedly became aggressive, physically attacking the guard. The victim sustained injuries requiring medical treatment at Patong Hospital.
Following the complaint, Tourist Police reviewed CCTV footage and identified two men leaving the scene on a rented motorcycle. The vehicle was traced to two Ukrainian citizens, identified as Mr. Andriy and Mr. Illia. Immigration records confirmed that both individuals remained in the country.
Authorities presented surveillance images to the victim, who positively identified the suspects. The pair were located, detained, and brought to Patong Police Station, where they were charged with “jointly committing physical assault causing bodily and mental harm to another person.”
