Tourist police confirmed that the foreign nationals involved were a group of four male teenagers, believed to be Russian and around 18 to 19 years old. The altercation, which occurred at approximately 12:44 AM, quickly escalated into a physical fight in the middle of the bustling nightlife street, surrounded by crowds of spectators.
According to witnesses, the group of foreigners had first caused a disturbance inside a nearby pharmacy, where they were reportedly loud and disrespectful until staff asked them to leave. They later settled in front of a cannabis shop, disregarding warnings that sitting in the area was not permitted without making a purchase.
Though security managed to initially defuse the situation, tensions reignited when the same group returned to the area and allegedly began provoking members of a local Thai rapper and B-boy group with obscene gestures and confrontational behavior.
A witness, a pub employee nearby, said the foreign teenagers appeared intoxicated and deliberately antagonized the Thai performers, leading to a renewed and more intense brawl. Despite the aggression on both sides, no serious injuries were reported, and neither party has yet filed a police complaint.
The incident, which unfolded in one of Thailand’s most iconic tourist zones, has sparked concern among local business owners and raised questions about crowd control and safety during Pattaya’s late-night peak hours.
