Russian Couple Flees Without Paying Massage Bill in Pattaya
PATTAYA – June 7, 2025 — A traditional Thai massage shop in Soi Phratamnak 5 is sounding the alarm after a Russian couple allegedly skipped out on paying for their massage session and fled the premises, an incident captured on CCTV that has sparked concern among local business owners.

The incident occurred in the early hours of June 7 after the couple, described as being in their 30s or 40s and dressed like typical tourists, received a traditional massage. According to Ms. Anmanee, a staff member at the shop, the pair requested an intensive Thai massage and were accommodated without issue. Trouble began when it came time to pay.
The couple reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the pricing and argued over the bill. In an effort to defuse the situation, the shop offered a discounted rate of 350 baht per person per hour. The couple appeared to agree and claimed they would pay via bank transfer, even presenting a screenshot of what they said was a completed payment slip.

However, the shop quickly discovered that no funds had arrived. When questioned, the couple allegedly evaded further discussion and abruptly left the shop, hopping onto a black automatic motorcycle and speeding away before staff could call authorities.
CCTV footage shows the couple leaving the scene and has been shared online to warn other businesses about potential scams, especially during the financially vulnerable low tourist season.
“This kind of behavior is not only dishonest, it’s demoralizing for small businesses already struggling in a tough economy,” the masseuse said.
