Thailand, Qatar Sign Visa Waiver Agreement

Thailand and Qatar have signed an agreement to waive visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official or special passports. The agreement was signed on March 3 by Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa and Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.

The agreement is expected to strengthen diplomatic relations by facilitating travel for government officials from both countries, reaffirming ongoing cooperation between Thailand and Qatar in various sectors, including foreign policy and regional security. The two sides also discussed developments in the Middle East, stressing regional challenges and areas of mutual concern.
