Number of protesters decreasing after House dissolution announcement

BANGKOK, 10 December 2013 (NNT) — The number of protesters joining the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) have begun to dwindle.

According to Thailand’s National Security Council Secretary, General Lt. Gen. Paradorn Pattanathabutr, demonstrators have been kept under control in order to prevent any violence from breaking out, adding that the number of PDRC protesters have started to drop after the House of Representative was dissolved on December 9.

In regard to protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban’s demand that Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra resign within 24 hours, Lt. Gen. Paradorn said he was somewhat worried about it.
