An Off-Duty Police Officer was shot and killed as he attended an armed robbery call in Baan Chang, Rayong on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at the Jong Ta Worn Gold Shop inside the Baan Chang Market in the afternoon while Police Senior Sergeant Major Wiwat aged 47 was off-duty. He had just returned home from a trip to the nearby market with his 4 months pregnant wife, prior to him getting ready for his night shift at the Police Station.
