BANGKOK, 7 September 2012 (NNT) – The Meteorological Department continues to issue weather warnings of heavy rains to residents of 10 provinces in the Central region, the Northeast and the East.

According to the weather bureau, a low pressure cell covering the Martaban Bay and the Western part of the Central region coupled with a strong southwestern monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, the Gulf of Thailand and the Southern provinces are causing widespread heavy rains and scattered thundershowers.
