Unidentified Foreign Man Found Dead in Waters Off Pattaya Beach
PATTAYA – An unidentified foreign man was discovered dead, floating face-down in the sea off Pattaya Beach near Soi 2 on the evening of December 4, 2025, triggering an immediate response from police and rescue services and drawing a crowd of alarmed onlookers.
Body Believed to Be a Foreigner Found Floating in the Sea off Karon, Phuket
Bystanders, including a disabled lottery vendor, pulled the unresponsive man ashore after children playing nearby first spotted the body. Despite efforts to assist, the man showed no signs of life. Police noted that early observations suggested he had been deceased for several hours before being found.
Rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation covered the body to shield the public from distress as officers secured the area. The man was described as wearing a black T-shirt and black long trousers and was carrying no identification, leaving his nationality and name unknown. Initial examinations revealed no visible signs of assault, with only drag marks evident from when he was brought to shore.
One of the first to respond was 44-year-old Chaowalit Klinkaesorn, a wheelchair-using lottery vendor who was resting on the beach at the time. Despite his physical limitations, he entered the water to help but realized the man was already dead upon reaching him. Chaowalit, later identified as the nephew of the late Pol. Lt. Gen. Rewat KlinKesorn, a former senior police commander, was praised by witnesses for his quick action.
Police deputy investigation officers from Pattaya City Police Station coordinated the scene examination and witness interviews. Preliminary assessments, based on the body’s condition and local tide patterns, indicated no immediate evidence of foul play.
