Two Major Factory Fires Strike Chonburi Industrial Estate

CHONBURI – A major fire broke out at a paper recycling factory inside the Golden Dragon Industrial Estate in Nong Yai district, Chonburi, on the afternoon of December 4, 2025, triggering a large-scale emergency response. The blaze erupted around 1:30 p.m., with flames rapidly consuming piles of paper within a warehouse before spreading to adjacent storage buildings.

Fire engines from Nong Yai and surrounding districts were deployed to the scene. The area, which is not near residential communities, saw no reports of injuries, though the intensity of the fire made containment difficult. By 5:00 p.m., the blaze had intensified, causing sections of the structure to collapse as crews continued efforts to bring it under control.

Approximately four hours later, a second fire was reported around 5:30 p.m. about eight kilometers away within the same industrial estate. This fire engulfed a chicken hatchery operated by GP Breeding in Khao Sok subdistrict. Police at Nong Yai Police Station were notified at approximately 5:40 p.m. and found the building fully alight upon arrival.

Investigators preliminarily believe the second fire was caused by wind-carried embers from the ongoing paper factory blaze, as strong gusts were recorded in the area at the time. No injuries were reported at the hatchery.

Firefighting crews remained on-site throughout the night battling both blazes. Officials stated that full investigations into the causes and comprehensive damage assessments will begin once the fires are fully extinguished and the areas are declared safe.
