Two American Men Injured in Sukhumvit Building Fire
BANGKOK – A fire broke out in a mixed-use building on Sukhumvit Soi 8 in Bangkok’s Klong Toey district on Monday morning, injuring two American men. The blaze erupted in a ground-floor office at approximately 11:25 a.m., prompting a swift response from firefighters who managed to contain the flames before they could spread to residential areas on the upper floors.

The six-storey building houses a combination of offices, residential accommodations, and a restaurant. The fire damaged a 25-square-metre office area, destroying furniture and scorching wall and ceiling panels. Preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have originated from an electrical short circuit at a wall-mounted switching panel.
The two injured individuals include a 63-year-old man who suffered a sprained ankle and a 26-year-old man who sustained a foot injury. The older man received first aid on-site and declined further hospital treatment, while the younger victim was transported to Vimut Theptarin Hospital for care. Authorities confirmed there were no other casualties and that all residents were evacuated safely.
