Authorities confirmed that both men had initially entered Thailand on 60-day tourist visas in 2024 but had overstayed their legal permission to remain. A Thai woman was also discovered during a related room search and found in possession of additional narcotics. Investigators have linked the suspects to a broader network of African drug agents known to operate in Bangkok’s Nana area, noting their use of similar concealment methods such as holding drugs in the mouth to evade detection.
