Fire Erupts in Bangkok Apartment Parking, Destroying 29 Motorbikes
BANGKOK – A fire broke out in the parking area of an apartment building in the Rat Burana district during the early hours of Saturday, September 27, resulting in the destruction of 29 motorbikes and damage to several other vehicles. The incident, which occurred around 1:40 a.m. near the entrance of Soi Suksawat 17 in Bang Pakok, prompted the swift evacuation of residents, though no injuries were reported.

Pol Lt Col Prayoon Wittaya, an investigating officer at Rat Burana Police Station, coordinated with fire crews and rescue teams from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation after receiving the emergency call. Upon arrival, responders encountered heavy smoke and intense flames engulfing a row of motorbikes parked along a wall inside the compound. The sight of the blaze caused considerable alarm among residents, many of whom rushed from the building to safety.
Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control within approximately 30 minutes using multiple water hose-lines, preventing its spread to nearby structures. Initial assessments confirmed that 29 motorbikes were completely destroyed, while three bicycles, two private cars, and one pickup truck also sustained damage, bringing the total number of affected vehicles to 35.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire. Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to reconstruct the events leading up to the incident.
