PHUKET – Authorities are investigating after the body of an unidentified foreign man was discovered in waters off Nui Beach in Karon on Wednesday afternoon, May 21.

American Man Rescued From Drowning on Karon Beach in Phuket

Karon Police were alerted to the scene at approximately 4:00 PM, where the shirtless victim was found floating face-down, clad in black pants and bearing distinctive tattoos on his right arm and leg. Initial forensic examinations conducted by Vachira Phuket Hospital specialists found no obvious signs of trauma or injury.

Medical professionals estimate the man had been dead for about three days prior to the discovery. Police are currently working to establish the victim’s identity by cross-referencing missing persons reports and checking guest registrations at nearby hotels.
