Foreign National Arrested for Prostitution in Phuket

PHUKET – A foreign woman has been detained in Thalang district on allegations of engaging in illegal prostitution, marking the latest enforcement action under Thailand’s Prevention and Suppression of Prostitution Act.

Alleged Russian Prostitute Arrested in Phuket

The Phuket Tourist Police confirmed the arrest this week, though the suspect’s nationality remains undisclosed. Authorities took the woman into custody for allegedly soliciting clients in public areas, a violation that carries legal penalties under Thai law.

The operation, conducted in Cherng Talay, formed part of a wider campaign targeting tourism-related crimes and unlawful activities by foreigners, running from May 15 to May 22, 2025.

Police reported seizing evidence including marked banknotes from an undercover operation and condoms discovered in the suspect’s belongings. The woman is currently in custody as legal proceedings move forward.
