Australian Emergency Service Tells Sydney Suburbs to Evacuate as Floods Worsen

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Residents in the outskirts of Sydney are told to evacuate as floodwater levels continue to rise in Australia’s New South Wales (NSW) region, the State Emergency Service (SES) said on Sunday.

“‼️FLOOD EVACUATION ORDER WESTERN PART OF JAMISONTOWN. Evacuate by 9pm Sunday 21 March 2021 using the Great Western Highway Evacuation Route,” SES said in one of many messages on Twitter.

Evacuating areas include Pitt Town North, Pitt Town Bottoms, low-lying parts of North Richmond, Freemans Reach lowlands, the northern end of Agnes Bank, Gronos Point and Cornwallis.
