The housing project now under construction at the foot of Doi Suthep-Pui national park in Chiang Mai’s Mae Rim district has been legally approved and is not located in forest area, president of the Court of Appeal Region 5 has confirmed.

Chiang Mai-based environmental groups have been opposing the housing project for years, suspecting that it encroaches on forest area.
