BANGKOK, 6 December 2016 (NNT) – The governor of State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has explained that heavy rains have eroded rail lines in Pattalung and Nakhon Si Thammarat provinces, impacting train transport in the southern region.

SRT Governor Wuthichat Kalayanimit has explained the suspension of the Taksinnarat Express Train Line and the Bangkok-Hat Yai route as well as adjustments to the Bangkok-Kantang, Bangkok-Nakhon Si Thammarat, Bangkok-Yala and Bangkok-Sungaikolok, saying the lines have been temporarily stopped due to erosion caused by recent rains.
