NARATHIWAT — An assistant village chief was killed and a defence volunteer critically wounded in a drive-by shooting in Chanae district Tuesday evening.

Pol Lt Col Wisoot Bureemart, an investigator at Chanae police station, said the attack occurred at about 5pm at a roadside shelter near a tea shop in tambon Padung Mart.
