Police fire tear gas at protesters trying to siege the Government House

Anti-riot police fired teargas at anti-Thaksin demonstrators trying to lay siege to Government House forcing the protesters to retaliate with bottles and rocks.

Violence broke out as the anti-Thaksin demonstrators marched out from five major locations at 10 .30 a.m. today to begin their seizure of significant government offices, including all six free TV stations – Channel 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and ThaiPBS in what they said was to control the news reporting by these stations.
