Bangkok to set a new hula hoop Guinness World Record

BANGKOK, 16 September 2012 (NNT) – M.R. Sukhumbhand Paribatra, the Governor of Bangkok, today opened an event that aims to encourage Bangkok residents to play hula hoops for their health.

The event is held at the Thai-Japanese Youth Center sports field. The Bangkok Governor said the event was intended to promote exercising among public members in order to gain a better health to be dedicated to His Majesty the King on his 84th birthday anniversary.

Another objective of the event is to set a record for the Guinness Book of World Records. The goal is to have no less than 8,484 people taking part in the exercise. The event has seen great support from members of all communities throughout Bangkok. All attendees are to join in setting a world record of simultaneous hula hooping. The record will be included in the Guinness Book of World Records.
