Leptospirosis in Northeast kills nine, leaves 220 sick

A leptospirosis outbreak in the lower Northeast has killed nine people and made 220 people ill, Public Health Region 14 inspector Dr Khamron Chaisiri said yesterday.

Surin had five deaths and 95 people made ill, which was the most, followed by Nakhon Ratchasima with four deaths and 45 people left ill. Buri Ram had 68 patients with the disease, while Chaiyaphum had 12 patients.
