BANGKOK, 2 May 2012 (NNT) – Thai police chief has announced a seizure of over 1 million tablets of amphetamine worth 306 million baht.
National Police Chief Police General Preopan Damapong said the police yesterday arrested two suspects in an estate in Soi Nawamin 111, Bangkok, which is near the Prime Minister’s house. Authorities also confiscated 1 million amphetamine tablets, 1.4 million baht cash, and 18 bankbooks.
The suspects admitted earning 100,000 baht per month as salary from drug dealing. The arrest was made after the narcotics suppression police had put the two culprits under surveillance for a while.
They said they obtained the drugs from the North and distributed it by order and transferred the money to a Burmese drug dealer’s account as well as to over 100 other bank accounts belonging to the dealer’s network.
Police will conduct further investigation to find all the people who are linked to this drug deal.
