One soldier killed in Pattani bomb ambush

PATTANI, March 2 – One Thai Army soldier assigned to a teacher protection unit was killed Friday and another was severely wounded in a bomb ambush in the southern province of Pattani, according to local police.

The two victims were identified as Pvt Chakrarit Jinarat and Pvt Jeerasak Boonruang, Pol Col Adul Pinaeba-ngo, superintendent of Mayo police station said, explaining that Pvt Chakrarit was pronounced dead at Pattani Hospital after succumbing to severe wounds.
