Chiang Mai air quality not improving: haze seige continues
CHAING MAI, March 2 – The air quality in the northern province of Chiang Mai has not improved from the haze besieging the area for the past week, although the dust particle level was above the safety standard because the new round of cold spell has blocked the smog over the province.
Haze from forest and farmland burning off fires still blanket the city of Chiang Mai and the poor visibility is not improving. The particulate level remains higher than the safety standard of 120 micrograms per cubic metre, putting residents at risk from respiratory ailments.
