Four killed in Thailand’s restive southern border region

PATTANI, YALA, Aug 4 – Violence in Thailand’s southern border region continued unabated Thursday with a string of four killings taking place in a single day.

A religious teacher was gunned down at his home in restive Pattani’s Nong Chik district early Thursday morning, a married couple was killed in a shooting in nearby Sai Buri district of the same province, and a former village defence volunteer was shot dead in Yala’s Raman district, according to local police.
