Phuket Tourist Caught in Drugs, Guns Crackdown

EFFORTS are being made to speed the processing of a young Russian tourist who found himself caught up in Phuket’s islandwide crackdown on weapons and drugs.

Phuket’s Police Commander, Major General Pekad Tantipong, asked the Superintendent of Kamala Police Station, Colonel Nattaphakin Kawnchaiperk, to expedite the case, and to let the major general know the outcome.

The 18-year-old Russian was arrested when a small amount of marijuana was allegedly found in one of his pockets at a police checkpoint in Kamala about 9pm last night.
