Officers from the Child and Women Protection Unit recently obtained an arrest warrant for a 19 year old man who is accused of raping a 16 year old girl in April 2009 inside his friend’s rented room in the Lompok area in Banglamung. On Tuesday Morning the suspect, Khun Manop was located and arrested and then taken to Banglamung Police Station where an angry confrontation with the victim’s mother took place who was understandably distraught. Khun Manop admits to the charge of rape and revealed that he and the victim were at the same school and had become friendly.
