Woman Threatens Finance Agents with Firearm in Phuket Viewpoint Debt Row
PHUKET – A debt collection attempt turned dangerously confrontational at a popular Phuket viewpoint yesterday afternoon when a woman allegedly brandished a gun at finance agents. The incident occurred around 4:20 p.m. at Khao Khad Viewpoint, where two agents had approached the woman regarding overdue payments exceeding 33,000 baht for a Honda Jazz.

According to the agents’ report to Wichit Police Station, the situation escalated rapidly when the woman threatened them with a firearm. Police responded promptly, locating the suspect, identified as 60-year-old Patch, at a residence in Wichit’s Moo 1. She voluntarily accompanied officers to the station and surrendered a registered .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver, legally approved in Trang’s Hat Samran District.
During questioning, Patch admitted to producing the weapon, attributing her actions to panic, stress over the potential repossession of her vehicle, and an existing lung condition. She stated her actions were unintentional and driven by fear.
