KHON KAEN – In a coordinated overnight operation, police in Khon Kaen raided two popular nightlife venues, arresting 23 individuals and seizing quantities of methamphetamine, ice, and ecstasy. The raids, conducted in the early hours of November 29, 2025, targeted Bubble Bar on Prachasamran Road and Wine Bla Bar on Ruenrom Road following intelligence about illegal drug use and extended operating hours.

At Bubble Bar, officers detained eight people for methamphetamine use—seven men and one woman—and one additional individual for possession. Police confiscated two bags of methamphetamine with a total weight of two grams. The operation at Wine Bla Bar resulted in the arrest of 15 partygoers found using methamphetamine in private karaoke rooms. Authorities also seized two grams of methamphetamine, two grams of ice, and one ecstasy pill from the premises.

The managers of both establishments were taken into custody for violating licensing laws, including operating beyond legal hours, selling alcohol past permitted times, and allowing illegal drug activity on their premises. Police Major General Phumiphat Phatrsriwongchai stated that the raids were the result of a sustained monitoring operation targeting nightlife venues in the city suspected of drug-related offenses.

All arrested individuals and the confiscated narcotics have been transferred to Mueang Khon Kaen Police Station for legal processing. Authorities emphasized that the crackdown is part of a broader effort to curb illicit drug use and strictly enforce regulations within the province’s entertainment sector, with ongoing surveillance expected to lead to further actions against non-compliant venues.
