The bus driver, Prachuap Thongkert, informed investigators that the vehicle’s brakes had suddenly locked, causing him to lose control. Authorities confirmed that a preliminary breathalyzer test detected no alcohol in his system. However, conflicting accounts emerged from an eyewitness who reported hearing a loud noise similar to a tire burst and expressed suspicion that the driver might have fallen asleep, noting the bus was traveling in the wrong lane on a straight section of road.
