Foreign Couple Arrested After Public Sex Act at Koh Pha Ngan Waterfall Goes Viral

KOH PHANGAN – An Israeli couple has been taken into police custody on Koh Pha Ngan after a video depicting them engaged in a sexual act at a popular waterfall circulated widely on social media, sparking public outrage. The incident, which occurred in broad daylight at Wang Sai Waterfall on November 4th, was recorded by other tourists present at the scene, leading to a swift investigation ordered by District Chief Suriya Boonphan.

Authorities successfully located and arrested the couple at their accommodation on November 5th. During questioning at the Koh Pha Ngan Immigration Office, the individuals admitted to being the people in the viral video and confessed to having sex at the waterfall around noon the previous day. Police have formally charged them with jointly committing an indecent public act, an offense under Thai law.

Officials emphasized that the behavior not only violates legal statutes but also demonstrates a profound disrespect for Thai culture and social norms. The case has prompted renewed concerns about the potential damage such incidents cause to the island’s reputation as a family-friendly natural attraction and tourist destination.
