Pattaya Nightclub Dispute Resolved After Reveal of Fake Gun Was a Lighter
PATTAYA – A conflict between an Indian tourist and a Pattaya nightclub manager has been peacefully resolved after it was revealed that a perceived firearm threat was actually a misunderstanding involving a novelty lighter. The two parties have mutually agreed to withdraw all complaints, bringing the case to an amicable close.
Indian Tourist Arrested for Wielding Model Gun in Bangkok’s Siam Square
The incident originally unfolded in the early hours of September 26 at the popular Boss Club on Walking Street. Mr. Rohit, a 33-year-old Indian tourist, had filed a police complaint alleging that he was assaulted and threatened with a gun by the club’s security guards and manager following a disagreement over a bill and a necklace.
The situation progressed on October 21 when the club’s legal representative, Mr. Aniruch Kongsap, accompanied the general manager, 35-year-old Indian national Mr. Bittu Vishal, to provide further testimony at the Pattaya City Police Station. Mr. Bittu consistently maintained that the event was a result of confusion, not violence. As part of the evidence, he had previously submitted to police on October 1 the item in question—a lighter crafted to resemble a pistol.
During the mediated meeting at the police station, Mr. Rohit, speaking through an interpreter, acknowledged that he had been intoxicated during the incident and had mistakenly believed the lighter was a real weapon, which triggered his panic and led to the confrontation. Mr. Bittu affirmed that there was no malicious intent to harm anyone, attributing the escalation to a simple miscommunication between acquaintances.

Both individuals confirmed they would formally withdraw all legal complaints against each other and take no further action. Police officials expressed satisfaction with the peaceful resolution, which averted prolonged legal proceedings. The outcome highlights the critical role of clear communication in preventing and resolving conflicts within Pattaya’s vibrant tourism and nightlife industry.
