Kuwaiti National Arrested in Phuket for Drug Possession and Visa Overstay

PHUKET – Patong police have apprehended a 36-year-old Kuwaiti national on charges of narcotics possession and visa overstay. The arrest took place on October 20, 2025, during a targeted police operation at a hotel room located in Soi Nanai 8. Authorities confirmed the seizure of 0.74 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a substance categorized as a Category 1 narcotic under Thai law.

The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and subsequently transferred to Patong Police Station for legal processing. During the investigation, officers discovered that the individual had remained in Thailand beyond the validity of his visa, leading to an additional immigration violation. Police have formally charged the Kuwaiti national with possession of a Category 1 narcotic and overstaying his visa.

The case underscores ongoing law enforcement efforts in popular tourist destinations to combat illegal drug activities and ensure adherence to immigration regulations. Authorities have reiterated that such offenses are treated with utmost seriousness and will result in strict legal consequences for violators.
