Brazilian Woman Arrested for Assaulting Police Officer in Pattaya Traffic Stop

PATTAYA – A Brazilian national was taken into custody on October 13 after allegedly assaulting a traffic police officer during a routine stop on Pattaya Beach Road. The incident began when officers observed the 31-year-old woman riding a motorcycle against the flow of traffic without a helmet.

According to police reports, the situation escalated quickly when officers attempted to issue a citation for the traffic violations. The woman became verbally abusive and, upon being informed of the fine under the Traffic Act, reportedly punched Police Lieutenant Siwakorn Somsura in the face. She continued to behave aggressively during her arrest, requiring officers to use handcuffs to restrain her. Authorities allege she spat at officers and kicked Lieutenant Siwakorn a second time while being taken into custody.

The suspect now faces multiple charges including assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, riding against traffic, and failure to wear a helmet. The case has highlighted the growing challenges faced by Pattaya law enforcement in managing traffic violations involving foreign nationals.
