American Tourist Knocked Unconscious in Pattaya Assault Near Walking Street

PATTAYA – An American tourist was left unconscious following a violent assault by a Thai motorcyclist near the entrance to Walking Street on the evening of October 8. The incident has prompted an ongoing police investigation to identify and locate the suspect, who fled the scene immediately after the attack.

The victim, identified as 50-year-old Mr. Q. N. T., was returning to his accommodation with his family after dining at a restaurant on Pattaya South Beach Road. As the group walked along Soi 16, near a Middle Eastern restaurant close to the Walking Street entrance, a Thai man on a motorcycle swerved and collided with Mr. T. from behind.

In response, Mr. T. began recording the incident with his mobile phone, intending to document the situation for insurance purposes and to await police assistance. The motorcyclist reacted with immediate aggression, slapping the phone from the tourist’s hand and then delivering a punch that rendered Mr. T. unconscious. The assailant promptly fled the area on his motorcycle before law enforcement could arrive.

The matter was formally reported to Pattaya City Police Station at 3:35 a.m. on October 9. The receiving officer confirmed that authorities are now examining CCTV footage from businesses and security cameras in the vicinity to identify the suspect. No description of the assailant or his vehicle has been released to the public at this stage.

Investigators are proceeding with plans to analyze all available surveillance footage and interview potential witnesses. Once identified, the suspect will face charges of physical assault and property damage.
