Ultralight Plane Crash in Phuket Leaves Two Injured
PHUKET — A training flight turned disastrous Sunday afternoon when an ultralight aircraft crashed in Thalang district, injuring both occupants. The incident occurred at 4:30 pm along a rural road in Moo 2 village of tambon Paklok, sending shockwaves through the local aviation community.

Thalang district chief Siwat Rawangkul confirmed the two victims included a Thai flight instructor and a Russian trainee pilot. Emergency responders transported both men to Thalang Hospital, where one required treatment for serious injuries. The aircraft, identified as an MX II Sprint model manufactured by Quick Silver Aircraft, had departed from Phuket Airpark at 2 pm before the unexplained crash.

Police identified the injured as 40-year-old instructor Surasak Chana, who sustained a broken ankle and head trauma, and 36-year-old Russian national Sergei Razukov, a five-year Phuket resident undergoing flight training. Thalang Police Chief Colonel Nikorn Chuthong stated aviation authorities have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
