BANGKOK — Firefighters swiftly contained an electric car fire at an auto repair workshop in Saphan Sung district on Friday afternoon (16 August). The incident occurred at a garage located on Soi Krungthep Kreetha 20, with emergency services receiving the alert at 3:15 pm.

The operation concluded by 3:39 pm, with no injuries reported.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire, which marks the latest in a series of EV-related incidents as Thailand transitions toward electric mobility. The quick response prevented damage to adjacent vehicles in the repair facility. Fire officials remind the public that lithium-ion battery fires require specific suppression techniques differing from conventional car fires.
