Motorbike Taxi Rider Discovers Man Hanging from Tree in Pattaya

Pol. Lt. Pakorn Prakobnun, Deputy Investigation Officer at Pattaya City Police Station’s Dongtan Substation, was among the first to respond after authorities received the report. Rescue personnel from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation were quickly dispatched to the scene.
When officials arrived, they found the body of a man, believed to be between 35 and 40 years old, dressed in a blue collared shirt and long jeans. No identification documents were found on him. Investigators said he had used a nylon rope to hang himself from a branch of a seaside Indian almond tree and that the body appeared to have been there for more than three hours.
At the base of the tree, officers discovered a plastic water bottle and a pair of sandals, indicating that the man may have been at the location for some time before taking his life.
The body was first noticed by 54‑year‑old motorcycle taxi driver Mr. Sanit, who had been collecting seashells and stones nearby to decorate his fish tank. He recalled that someone shouted that a man was hanging from a tree. He rushed over with a pair of scissors from under his motorbike seat in hopes of helping but realized the man was already dead. Authorities were then alerted.
A preliminary police examination confirmed there were no signs of assault or foul play. The body has been transported to the Police General Hospital’s Institute of Forensic Medicine in Bangkok for a full autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
