Pattaya City Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene at 4:06 AM after reports of a physical altercation. They found the unidentified foreigner bleeding heavily from the head, requiring immediate medical attention before being transported to a nearby hospital. Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with conflicting accounts of how the brawl unfolded.
According to initial statements, the conflict began when the intoxicated foreigner allegedly refused to pay a transgender woman, identified as Panya, 38, for companionship services. The situation turned violent when the tourist reportedly became aggressive, prompting nearby motorbike taxi drivers to intervene.
“The foreigner started swinging at us even though we were just trying to calm things down,” said one driver, who suffered a blow to the face. Panya claimed she had tried to walk away but was followed, leading to the confrontation.
However, some foreign witnesses disputed this version, alleging the motorbike taxi drivers used excessive force, striking the tourist until he fell and hit his head.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage to determine the exact sequence of events. “We will ensure a fair investigation for all parties,” said Lt. Col. Narongwit Pansila of Pattaya City Police.
The incident has reignited concerns over late-night disputes in Pattaya’s entertainment districts, where cultural misunderstandings and intoxication often lead to violent escalations. Authorities urge both tourists and service workers to resolve conflicts peacefully and avoid physical altercations.
